For more than thirty years, "John I.," as he prefers to be called, was a reporter for media outlets throughout the world. These included local newspapers in his native Alabama, The National Enquirer, News of the World in London, the Sydney Morning Herald, and NBC television. He is the author of five novels, a short story collection and two novellas.

      A truly wonderful story. Beautifully written, beautifully told. Highly recommended for anyone from young adult on.

      Wow, a really good story. A slice of life from a time nearly gone even in the timeline of the story. The deep rural south, an old fashioned farmer, a kid, a dog and a great love. Plus some really interesting descriptions of things I know nothing about---like getting a sow to mate! A good story, fast read and very interesting. I enjoyed it very much. I have read quite of bit of this author's work and he never disappoints. He has a number of these short stories about the deep south in the forties and fifties, and I enjoyed them all! Enjoyable narrated, moved at perfect pace, easy to hear and understand.
