About this audiobook
After the death of her sister, 17-year-old Violet Saunders finds herself dragged to Four Paths, New York. She may be a newcomer, but her mother isn't: They belong to one of the revered founding families of the town, where stone bells hang above every doorway and danger lurks in the depths of the woods.
Justin Hawthorne's bloodline has protected Four Paths for generations from the Gray — a lifeless dimension that imprisons a brutal monster. After Justin fails to inherit his family's powers, his mother is determined to keep this humiliation a secret. But Justin can't let go of the future he was promised and the town he swore to protect.
Ever since Harper Carlisle lost her hand to an accident that left her stranded in the Gray for days, she has vowed revenge on the person who abandoned her: Justin Hawthorne. There are ripples of dissent in Four Paths, and Harper seizes an opportunity to take down the Hawthornes and change her destiny.
The Gray is growing stronger every day, and its victims are piling up. When Violet accidentally unleashes the monster, all three must band together with the other founders to unearth the dark truths behind their families' abilities, before the Gray devours them all.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I am so happy that I got to this book! It was a joy to listen to it! It was everything I wanted. It had a plot, a great atmosphere, good dialogue, believable characters and well developed relationships between everyone in the story. A truly Halloween must read, just spooky enough.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Trully enjoyed this book!! Cannot wait for the 2nd book to see what happens next

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I greatly enjoyed this story and hope there is a second one to come!! It’s like Vampire Diaries meets Stranger Things!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This book was a surprise for me. Ive never heard of the author but I look forward to more of her books. She did a fantastic job of developing the characters and a great job with the plot. There were twists and turns that the reader will not expect that were injected into the story to give it a page turning effect. I cannot wait to read the next book and follow each of the characters even more. They are all growing in their own ways and I am invested. I would also say that the audiobook for this story in particular is done very well, the narrator is fantastic and does a great job with all of the characters bringing each of them to life in their own unique ways.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book was so good , I went through it so fast and I can’t wait to read Deck of Omens?
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I absolutely loved this book! It's been a while since I fell so completely for a YA story and this one really is special. It's been compared to Riverdale and Stranger Things and I see the parallels with both those shows, both of which I am a big fan of so it's no surprise that this dark little book was right up my alley. The idea of outcast teens teaming up to fight an evil monster in the woods speaks to my 80's movie loving heart. Add in magic and I'm so there! I loved the story, the setting, the characters, and the slow build of the potential romances.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5It was entertaining but it felt incomplete and way too convinient
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5One of the BEST books I’ve read so far in 2019!
A perfect combination of schemes, dark secrets, magic, mystery and romance!
And a must read for everyone who loves Riverdale and The Vampire Diaries series! - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Could not relate with the characters. It was a solid mah
