In the Seventies, I wrote television scripts for various successful shows, and in the eighties, I wrote published short stories for several men's magazines. I have three times been a contributing member of The Southampton Writers Conference and many of my friends are successful writers, that being a person who writes almost daily and sometimes earns a living doing so. I have a good command of the language, a unique perspective and am not concerned with the raised eyebrows of critics who might not appreciate my work. I like to write and love having written and can think of no better thing to do with my time.
I share my time between Southampton, Long Island and Aventura, Florida, with the bulk of my time now spent in the South. I share my homes with my wife of of nearly twenty years and childhood sweetheart, the incredible and beautiful Beth Gordon, and my dog, the indefatigable Lucy. Retired from the New York City Public School System after thirty-four years at the chalkboard, I like kids, fitness, a good tan, good friends, a little bit of travel to recharge, laughter, television, reading, altered states of consciousness and life. I hate organized religions, be they theistic or cult, people who say, 'should', and being cheap on oneself. I have a wonderful son, Matthew, who is greater than me in many ways, and two grandchildren, whom I hope to know better with the passage of time. My parents are still alive at ninety and that bodes well for me, although age can be demoralizing and humbling. I am incredibly handsome, which is not always a good thing, as it has often made life too easy and stopped me from achieving that which I might have had I been less attractive.view less
