She went to Russell Sage College, where she received a BA in Biology and after graduation worked as a research assistant to Dr. Hideshige Imai at Albany Medical College. She has an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a teaching certification from Russell Sage College. She taught biology for many years in both public and private schools and was a certified EMT for the local volunteer fire department. She was also granted a US patent for Protective Gloves for medical use. She has been married for thirty years and has three sons and two grandchildren.view less
