He is currently completing a school-based traineeship with the Southern NSW Medicare Local and is training to be an Aboriginal health worker. He has had a passion for writing since primary school. Gary won the 2012 Patrick White Young Indigenous Writers competition in the year twelve category for a short story he wrote.
He currently lives on the far south coast of NSW with his parents, three younger brothers and one younger sister. Gary is a member of the local football team and is a proud supporter of the North Queensland Cowboys.view less
