One of ten children, we learned the value of hard work and an active imagination at an early age. Our parents taught us to entertain ourselves and also that reading was a way to go anywhere and do anything we wanted to do.
I began writing short stories and poetry at an early age. When my children were born, Ii began making up stories for them and eventually put those into written form. Finally, after many years of prodding myself, I decided to write a novel for women. The novel needed the right combination of independence, romance, action and most of all, it must be entertaining!
Living in a rural farming community did not afford many opportunities for adventure. After raising three children as a single mother, I took my education and talent and put it to work. I bought and grew a business into a very successful venture. Few women were willing to enter into this business but I thrived and am still considered an expert in the field. Years of procedure and technical writing led me to seek a more creative writing experience. Pirate's Web is a product of that desire.view less
