Graduated from the University of London, he pioneered teaching English and math on British television (Prestel), and went on to provide solutions for physics and chemistry problems. Subsequent software products for the American market include the Picture Dictionary (forerunner of Raytheon's Wordless Picture Story Books) and the Rovabot series on elementary English.Dr Yam also invented computer music in 1987 and utilized speech technology to make digital telephony available to the disabled when ADA law came into force in 1994.Author of over 50 books and papers, Dr Yam wrote the English version of the construction code for Europe (Currently 28 Member States), edited by Professor Oslund of Sweden. He also developed English Grading Software for Oxford University Press in 2008.view less
