From age’s Two to Twelve, she was raised in Lagos Nigeria with her paternal family and then returned to the United States at age Twelve. She has grown to embrace both sides of her heritage and loves to visit Nigeria occasionally. She currently lives in Northern California and enjoys traveling, reading, dancing and her new found love in writing. Uzo never set-out to write a book based on her life story, or any other book for that matter, but after years of hearing from random people who heard a brief synopsis of her upbringing, that she should write a book , she soon took heed to those opinions and began to write. “Ages of Suffocation: Remembered Dreams” is Uzo Amaka’s first book.view less
