Previously he was resident poet for English National Opera, UK Trade & Investment, Yorkshire TV’s Investigative Poet and Humberside Police’s Beat Poet. His collections with Carcanet include The Changing Problem (1980), Now It Can Be Told (1983) and Dad, the Donkey’s On Fire (1994).
