Her own life has been laced with ordinary tragedies, car accidents, infertility, surgeries, lots more surgeries and, emotional trauma, and humour is the one thing that always saves her and builds resilience in her. Nicola's stories are of the ordinary tragedies, sometimes they are her stories but most of the time they are not but, she always attempts to infuse them with humour because she cannot imagine anyone surviving life without it. Nicola is also passionate about social justice and challenging stereotypes.
Nicola recently moved to a regional town in the West Australian Wheatbelt with her husband of 32 years. She is very happy to be living a more peaceful country life and is delighted to be back closer to her daughter. She does, however, miss living 5 minutes from the airport as she and her husband are avid travelers.
Nicola has won or been a finalist in several international writing competitions including coming second in Noosa's one-act play festival 2013 which she was privileged to be able to see performed.view less
