Several generations of her father's family were involved with paddle steamers on the river.
Irene is a retired historian, a widow with three children and four grandchildren all living in Western Australia. She loves reading, watching tennis on television, and is active in her local croquet club. There will be a croquet inspired murder mystery at some time, in a new series based in a retirement village. Well, they say to write what you know.
Her favourite authors-gone-by are Anthony Trollope, Dorothy Sayers, Ngaio Marsh and Agatha Christie. She particularly enjoys British-flavoured cozy mysteries, but is also partial to steampunk, women's fiction and historical fiction.
Irene can be contacted through her Facebook author page. She is also on Goodreads, where she is a member of the Aussie Readers group and several cozy mystery groups.
Her author website https://irenesauman.com and her Pinterest board https://au.pinterest.com/irenesauman showcase maps and photos relating to her Emma Berry Murray River Mystery series.
A FREE short story 'Death Ruins a Wedding' is available as a thank you for signing up on her website to her occasional newsletter for title updates.view less
