In 2005, she accepted a position as a staff writer for SABLE Magazine, an online magazine for lesbian women of color. In 2006, her short story "Unspoken" was included in "Longing, Lust, Love: Black Lesbian Stories, an anthology published by Nghosi Books in 2006.
Yakiri enjoys writing fiction. Her preferred genres are paranormal/fantasy and suspense. She published non-fiction articles for various online newspapers and magazines about politics, history, travel and technical support.
In August 2017, Yakiri self-published "Guardian," her debut novel. Her second novel, "Until Death" will be available in 2018.
She lives in Phoenix, AZ with her spouse and teenage son.view less
