She was 22. The setting was the California Prison for Women. The question began a search for answers.
A failed marriage resurrected her dream of becoming a therapist, and added some issues of her own to the quest informally going on inside her brain. Her special focus in graduate school became understanding the self. What was it? Was it bad? Was it good? Being a mother, and a single-parent increased her need to know.
What was identity? And how much was God involved in its formation? How much was he involved in life on earth? Was God responsible for the bad that happened to us as well as the good? What was evil really? How much of it came from us, and how much from somewhere else? How much were we responsible for the bad that happened in this world? How much was God responsible?
Twenty years as a Marriage and Family Therapist have aided that exploration. Because God was real and important to her, and because questions about life and self are usually all tangled up with questions about God, the need-to-know for her clients grew. Almost forty years later this search and research have become the basis for this book.
If youve had similar questions, you will find her search revealing, the stories of her clients fascinating. This tutoring can help you avoid the pitfalls and potholes of evil.view less
