Cheryl A. White started her adventure in publishing in 1998 from her home in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. With no professional education in computers, she taught herself the use of computers and friendly-user software. She began by printing simple greeting cards and quickly learned to print wedding invitations, programs, business cards and obituaries to meet the demand for her services. She actively participated in church ministry with involvement in the computer ministry, the special events ministry, assistant church leader for children’s ministry and Pastor’s Writing Team.
Cheryl simultaneously accomplished a career in the Family Home Childcare business for seven years on military installations providing care for children (two weeks – twelve years old) in three states – Oklahoma, Mississippi and Texas. She studied a home study course earning a diploma, as well as taking numerous amounts of training by military personnel and family advocacy. In this environment, she dealt with a variety of races, nationalities and family structures that required personal attention with family issues in all areas of life.
In October 2006, Cheryl released her first published memoir. Easter Reunion: How God Planned Our Family Reunion is a heartwarming story of how Cheryl and her sisters planned a reunion after the devastation of September 11, 2001. Her maternal grandmother of ninety-one years old had given birth to thirteen children and they produced numerous children through great-great grandchildren. The book details how they planned it though they were miles apart. It also reveals accounts of Oklahoma City Bombing and the burial of grandma in the midst of Hurricane Katrina.
Cheryl is a native of Louisiana but resides in San Antonio, Texas with her husband James, who retired from the Air Force after twenty-six years of service. She is the mother of two daughters – Jamey and Jazmine. Before her career in childcare and publishing, she was employed with the Army and Air Force Exchange Services (AAFES). She is presently employed at a military base school district as a food service worker, serving young adults from sixth through twelfth grades and the school staff.view less
