As she became an adult she left Louisiana to find herself and her purpose. At 19 she moved to the beautiful island of Puerto Rico, where she decided to join the United States Navy.
With dedication, drive and determination, she became her commands most exceptional sailor. As an active service member, she was awarded various awards; including 5 Navy and Marine Corp Achievement Medals for outstanding service.
In her 13 years of exceptional service she visited Italy, Spain, France, Dubai, St. Thomas, St Martin, West Indies, and Turkey among many others places. In these different countries, she was given the honor of singing our National Anthem in front of hundreds of dignitaries.
After Honorably serving 13 years of active service, she walked away from the Navy to begin her life as a civilian and a Student. In doing so, Nola had another opportunity to serve her country by becoming an Events Coordinator for Veterans Affairs, which she assisted in serving over 300 Veterans by providing programs and supplies for homeless Vets. She has her degree in Liberal Arts and is an active member of Toastmasters International. She is also a motivational speaker and mentor. Through her tough experience in an abusive marriage, she believes that no matter what the circumstances, we all have the strength to become survivors. She wishes to continue spreading light and information on the effects of verbal, emotional and physical abuse in relationships; and how we can gain our power back from those who tried to take it away.view less
