Simple, but powerful message. Common sense that isn't so common. The first book of this type that recognizes that although change begins with "me", because we are interconnected, real change is only possible by working with others.

Time to stop complaining about email fatique. The Hamster Revolution, by Mike Song, Vicki Halsey, and Tim Burress, contains stress-reducing tips, and the ones I've started using this week are:1. Creating a template: The most wonderful emails get to the point and end quickly. The template in the book can be tailored for personal use, and, already, I've used it several times.2. Joining the AAAAA (The American Association Against Acronym Abuse): No matter how commonly known I think an acronym is, someone will eventually get confused. Now I spell them out.3. Avoiding excessive punctuation: This is one of my big sins -- writing a sentence with too many exclamation points!!!!!!4. Writing clear subject lines: Not only does a vague subject frustrate, it bores, and confuses. 5. Matching the subject lines to the content: From now on, I promise that when I hit the reply or forward button to start a new topic, I will also write a new subject line. Always.
