To my forever enduring mother.... Your will gives me strength. Your love gives me hope. Because of you, I’ll never quit.
To my editor, Linda Wasserman.... You have helped me take my words, place them in all their proper places, and create a book I really want to share with others. Thank you for affording me this chance to become published. I’ll be forever in your debt.
It’s all because of you, Mrs. Pat.... You’re my inspiration, my friend, my #1 supporter, and one of the greatest individuals I’ve ever met.

Dear Readers,
I know how life can be: the good, the bad, the ugly. I’ve been scared, and I’ve seen evil. I have made some very insane decisions in my time. This booklet was made with the hope I could deter others from choosing the wrong path.
We, as people of the millennium, are so blessed that it doesn’t even make sense! I bring this up because we are in the digital age, everything is at our fingertips, and we must take advantage of this in as many ways as possible. I am aware that what I just told you is something you already know, but all of us need to be reminded of certain things.
Anything that you’re going through in life is researchable. Hence: Google it.
Doing so will allow you to capitalize off the thousands of years of human civilization. You can, on the Internet, turn to the greatest thinkers, to religion, to yoga. Whatever you need, find it, read it, apply it.
Please just don’t waste your days away. There is too much to learn. Too many people need help. Life is short, but only if you view it from one lifetime. Please don’t forget about those after us, and please don’t let the hard work that’s been done before us go in vain. Billions of people have died getting life to be as great as what we know it.
As you will be able to tell by reading my poetry, I live and learn. And because I do, I am able to keep my head high. We’re human, and many of us haven’t lived a life with that silver spoon.
Therefore, as we venture out on our own, we are bound to make mistakes. What matters, though, is what we do from that point on. Help me by helping yourself. Let my failures guide you.
Sincerely,
Claude A. Ouellette II
