    The fifth issue of Adventure Tales salutes pulp legend Achmed Abdullah, popular writer in the pulp magazines in the early 20th century, with two long stories -- "Their Own Dear Land" and "The Remittance Woman." Many of his stories deal with ex­otic locales, usually Oriental. But even his Occidental tales are of interest, well written and fast paced, often with an unexpected twist or two.     Achmed Abdullah (1881-1945) was the pseudonym of an American writer who specialized in pulp stories and screenplays. His Siamese drama Chang: A Drama of the Wilderness was nominated for an Academy Award in 1927.
