His career has seen both the sublime and the ridiculous; Stanley has worked with some of the greatest doctors in the world on pioneering new heart surgeries that have changed medicine forever—and he has been the guinea pig for experiments that have ended in temporary paralysis! Stanley's career is a microcosm of the developments of the medical system in the UK over the last 60 years—from the birth of the NHS onwards—and he has obtained many hilarious anecdotes along the way, all of which can be found in Confessions of a Doctor.
