About this ebook

Fearless men, their allegiance is to one another, to the oppressed, and to the secret society known as the Brotherhood of the Sword—and they must never surrender to the passionate yearnings of their noble hearts.

A Lady of Love

Beautiful, peace-loving Rowena knows that Stryder of Blackmoor is a warrior, and is therefore a man to be shunned.

But something burns in the eyes of this powerful knight that she has never seen in others of his kind: a tenderness, and a need to love and be loved. Yet to enter his world would be madness—against every principle by which she has lived her life—so she must resist the yearning that would draw her into his arms.

A Man of War

Duty bound to battle for right, Stryder has never desired the comforts of home and hearth—until he gazed upon the exquisite face and form of the incomparable Rowena. He dares not succumb to her sensuous charms, for Stryder is a man sworn to know no love. But when treachery and danger threaten, the noble knight must stand as the unsuspecting lady's champion—though his actions could cost him his honor, his heart … and his forbidden dream of happiness.

Nice medieval set romance. The heroine character grows and develops as the story enfolds: from spoiled child to grown up woman (almost) in charge of her life. I liked it!

In medieval times, Bernard of Carrisford dies suddenly leaving his only daughter vulnerable to attack. The Treasure of Carrisford, as Imogen is known, flees her castle when the evil Lord Warbrick mysteriously invades the castle searching for her and its treasure. She escapes to her neighbor, Lord FitzRoger of Cleeve, and begs for his help to regain her home and defend her honor. Forced to realize that she needs a strong defender, Imogen agrees to wed the Lord of Cleeve in exchange for his assistance. This story has several twists and turns but eventually the stubborn and independent people surrender to love. This was my first romance of the year and it was a good one. I really enjoyed it not only for the romance but the story of the battles and imagery.

Imogen of Carrisford flees when her house is invaded by a neighbour. She dressed up with a fake pregnant stomach and goes to the one man who might be able to help. Fitzroger of Cleeve, often called the Bastard. A man who is strong and powerful and willing to help. They find themselves attracted to each other but are both quite unwilling to admit to each other how much. It's full of historical detail and the characters are quite good fun, however there are moments where it just read like a record skip, jarring a little. It's interesting and fun though.
