You may be surprised to learn, then, that the Alabama fight song mentions the Rose Bowl. Don’t be. It’s only fitting that there’s a link between the Granddaddy of all Bowl Games and the Gold Standard of all college football programs.
You see, Alabama’s rich football tradition harkens back to a time when the Rose Bowl invited the best teams in the land, regardless of conference affiliation. It should be no shock that Alabama fell in that category more than once during college football’s formative years.
