- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5a wonderful religious celebration of Fall, and very educational. Takes you through a farmer's process of growing pumpkins. Once ready to harvest, the farmer chooses a pumpkin and carves it into a jack-o-lantern. The focus is on how, like the pumpkin getting a new face with a shining light within, God's love and promises can make each of us new and a light of his love to the world. Each page contains pertinent Bible verses.Lovely book!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5The Pumpkin Patch Parable would be described as a folktale because the plot is in past tense. The sentences also sound as if they are meant to be told in just an auditory storytelling version. The story follows one man and his journey through the harvesting of pumpkins and adds an alternative to autumn books. The setting descriptions were limited and didn't give much background to where the farmer was located. In the plot the author does describe what season and the timing the man followed which helped a little. Overall little detail was given about the setting opening the imagination for the readers.
