    Dr. Charles F. Stanley (1932–2023) was a New York Times bestselling author who wrote more than sixty books, with sales of more than ten million copies.       INTRODUCTION

      Are you excited about your life and who God created you to become? Are you eager to take up the path He has set out for you? Perhaps you are. But it’s possible you’ve chosen this study because you need assurance that there is more to life. Maybe you are going through a difficult season with no apparent end to your trials. Or maybe you lack purpose, direction, and hope for the future. Whatever the reason, one thing is certain: you have not found this workbook by coincidence. God has brought you to this point for a reason. He wants you to experience the awesome fullness of a life centered in His love, in line with His will, and dependent upon His provision. But this cannot happen apart from an intimate relationship with Him.

      God will reveal Himself and His plans to you as you follow Him through life’s many challenges—not only in major decisions, but in many other ways. Walking closely with the Lord is fundamental to discovering and fulfilling His calling on your life. By learning to submit to His will, your relationship with Him will grow deeper and more satisfying as time passes. Remember, God knows His children better than they know themselves, and you are no exception. He alone is capable of bringing out the best in you.

      It all starts with receiving Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. You cannot know God intimately without first accepting the One who reconciles you to the Father. As Romans 5:10 tells us, While we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. Through Jesus’ death on the cross, and the power of His resurrection, we are restored to a right relationship with the Father. He is our king, savior, healer, and the means by which we enter the kingdom of God.

      Romans 10:9 makes a promise. It says, "If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe
