About this ebook
An easy way to help young boys see God’s promises and how they can rely on His love in their daily lives.
The promise verses in this book are selected from the bestselling International Children’s Bible® to offer comfort and encouragement when a boy is feeling afraid, lonely, worried, angry, dissatisfied, discouraged, sad, rebellious, impatient, or sick . . . and when they need reassurance of God’s protection, love, forgiveness, help . . . and that He listens when they pray. It’s a great way for children to hide God’s Word in their hearts.
Sample text: Sometimes it’s hard to tell the truth when you feel like you have something to hide. But remember—when it’s hard to be honest: God promises to reward Truth—not Lies!
"You must do these things to enjoy life and have many happy days. You must not say evil things. You must not tell lies." Psalms 34:12-13

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This is a children's inspirational/devotional type book written mainly for boys. It covers a variety of topics that kids deal with every day. Each topic spans two pages and includes a short poem and three to four verses. I would say this book is most appropriate for school-aged children. I don't have any boys, so I started reading this book to my daughters each night as our devotional. After a few pages, I told them that was enough for one night. My older daughter asked if she could continue reading on her own. She understood the message and liked the way it was being presented. She loves the pictures and thinks they show what the verses talk about. I think this book presents a strong spiritual message because it is infused with scripture. Though we (my daughter and I) would recommend it to boys as some topics are written specifically for them, but girls (like my daughter) might enjoy it too as most of the topics relate to things all kids deal with. Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from Thomas Nelson Publishers as part of their [...] book review bloggers program. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The Bible verses in this book offer comfort and encouragement when young boys need reassurance of God's protection, love, and forgiveness. As children see again and again that Scripture has the answers they need, they will learn to rely on God and His promises. The promise verses have been selected from the best-selling International Children's Bible. Simply said, God's Promises for Boys is a lovely guide that touches on all of the important, and sensitive topics, of a young boy's life. Written in easy-to-understand style that readily appeals to children, God's Promises for Boys covers the full gambit from "Growing Up is Hard" and "You Are Angry," to "Share With Others" and "Being a Better Friend." Lessons that can be turned to to when needed, used daily for affirmation, or read cover to cover for a complete understanding of all God promises our young men. I've chosen to read a section a day to my rural boys (ages 7 and 9,) which has led to many enlightening discussions with them and and enriched understanding of God's promises for us all. Do the boys enjoy this book? Well, they keep reminding me to read a section with them each day, so as the saying goes, "that proof is in the pudding!"
