    Introduction

The great and glorious promises of God—they are our security in a world of uncertainty and turmoil. They are life vests, intended to protect us through stormy seas. They are God’s gifts given corporately to all of his children—but personally to each one of us.

We’ve compiled this book, Promises for Men, so that you can take hold of God’s promises for your life. We pray that as you read, you will begin to understand how vast his promises really are, covering virtually every area of daily life. Then, it’s our hope that you will appropriate them as God intended, whether your skies are sunny or gray, both in good times and bad. God’s promises are sufficient to cover any need you might have.

So read them, believe them, rely on them, treasure them. Most of all, thank God for them. Though freely given, they have been bought with a great price—the holy, righteous blood of God’s precious son, Jesus.

LORD. For the sake of your servant and according to your will, you have done this great thing and made known all these great promises.

What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things.
