About this ebook
"Anthony Huso pushes the conventions of epic fantasy to their limits in this tale that that is not quite horror, not quite fantasy, and much more than both. Reminiscent of the novels of China Mieville and Glen Cook, this should appeal to fans of steampunk and epic fantasy."—Library Journal on Black Bottle
Tabloids sold in the Duchy of Stonehold claim that the High King, Caliph Howl, has been raised from the dead. His consort, Sena Iilool, both blamed and celebrated for this act, finds that a macabre cult has sprung up around her.
As this news spreads, Stonehold—long considered unimportant—comes to the attention of the emperors in the southern countries. They have learned that the seed of Sena's immense power lies in an occult book, and they are eager to claim it for their own.
Desperate to protect his people from the southern threat, Caliph is drawn into a summit of the world's leaders despite the knowledge that it is a trap. As Sena's bizarre actions threaten to unravel the summit, Caliph watches her slip through his fingers into madness.
But is it really madness? Sena is playing a dangerous game of strategy and deceit as she attempts to outwit a force that has spent millennia preparing for this day. Caliph is the only connection left to her former life, but it's his blood that Sena needs to see her plans through to their explosive finish.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Anthony Huso's book The Last Page is a mixture of fantasy, steampunk, cosmic horror, blood magic, and the downright weird! And boy do I love weird! I thought I had a big imagination but after reading this I feel kind of mediocre. If you're looking for a change of pace from traditional fantasy or want to have your mind boggled, read this book! I'm going to be ordering the sequel The Black Bottle ASAP!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Anthony Huso paints a very fascinating world in which royalty faces all kinds of challenges including a war, while alchemy and witchcraft (called holomorphy in this story) take an important place in the story.During the first chapters I had a hard time staying focussed on the story, but once I got past that hurdle, the story pulled me into a vibrant world with intrigue, hidden agendas, dirigibles and myth. Rebels and a "love you, love you not" game made the book a very nice experience for me, which fed me with ideas for future stories as well. The setting of the story is laid out very nicely, with plenty of space for personal interpretation of many things. The technology and other matters devised are good and in many ways refreshing and new. (For me.)
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This is a unique blend of fantasy and sci fi. I'm not sure if the author has a huge vocabulary or if he just likes making up big words, but don't let the multisyllables throw you. This world is incredibly detailed, though I didn't always follow the politics. It's also messy, dirty, and bloody, so beware any reader who doesn't like guts and violence. It's not suspenseful because of the action, but rather because of the overwhelming odds the characters face.
