About this ebook
Charlotte "Charlie" Swift prefers working alone. That's why after eight years as an Air Force investigator she became a PI rather than a cop. She lives alone, she works alone, and aside for the occasional flirtation with sexy cop Connor Montgomery or her hunky neighbor Father Dan, she likes it that way. Then her silent partner flees the country, leaving his wife, Gigi, with nothing but the house, the Hummer, and a half interest in Swift Investigations. Charlie ends up with a heap of debt and Gigi, who has decided to be a not-so-silent partner. This change comes about while Charlie is trying to find the mother of a baby abandoned on a client's doorstep. While following leads, she sends Gigi out on crazy assignments, hoping that the pampered socialite will be driven to quit. However, when the baby's mother turns up dead, there's a murderer on the loose, and Charlie will need all the help she can get.

Reviews for Swift Justice
24 ratings5 reviews
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I read this book because of a challenge that I'm doing that required that I read a book that took place in my hometown (Colorado Springs). The local references were a lot of fun to read about including the victim who attended the same high school as my husband. Without the local flair I still found this book an entertaining and fun quick read and am not opposed to reading the others in the series.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I really found the premise of this story interesting about a kidnapped baby who was left by her teenaged mother off at the biological grandmother's house. The client had given a baby up for adoption when she was a teenager and she hires Carlotta Swift to find the girl. That turns into a hunt for baby Olivia's father. Meanwhile, Carlotta is saddled with the wife of her business partner who has taken off with his mistress. I enjoyed the plot of the mystery but Carlotta is a rather cold character and Gigi is ridiculous.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5In spite of the rave reviews for this book, for me it was a real chore to read. The premise is intriguing. A young PI whose business is on shaky ground financially is forced to accept the ex-wife, Gigi, of her financial backer because when he left the country with his mistress after cleaning out their bank accounts this was one of the few assets he bequeathed to her. The PI, Charlotte (“call me Charley”) Swift is appalled to have her domain invaded and tries her best to get Gigi to decide she doesn’t want to be a PI. This is the humorous part of the book. The serious part is trying to find the mother, and later the father, of an abandoned baby. Although the premise of the story is promising I found the characters in the story to be rather sketchily drawn and not particularly engaging and the plot was rather disjointed. I’m going to skip the sequel. I’m sure though that this book could very well appeal to other mystery lovers. Just not for me.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Meet Charlotte “Charlie” Swift and her unwanted, untrained and utterly wonderful partner, Gigi. This is a first novel and it’s going to be a great series, if this book is any indication. Charlie runs “Swift Investigations”. Gigi’s husband was Charlie’s silent partner but when he runs off to Costa Rica with another woman Gigi becomes a not-so-silent partner. A fun read.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Great series starter and just the right mix of serious and fun. Looking forward to #2!
