KARA AND KATY PILLAR GO TO LONDON

The front door slammed against the wall as Daddy came bursting into the room. Guess where the University is sending me? You’ll never guess in a million years. I’m going to London! Isn’t that terrific?

Mommy, Jason and Kara turned to stare at Daddy. He was a mess! His hair was in a tangled, like he had been running his hands through it. His tie was yanked loose and flopping around. Even his shirt was coming out of his pants! Daddy was really excited about this trip.

That’s wonderful, Mommy told Daddy. When are you leaving for London and how long will you be gone?

No, you don’t understand! Daddy shouted in his excitement. We’re all going to London. Since its summer vacation for the kids, we’re all going!

Daddy picked Mommy up and danced her around the living room while Jason and Kara jumped up and down with joy!

Suddenly remembering he was almost a young man, Jason stopped jumping and calmly asked When do we depart for London? Is there time to make plans?

We’ll be leaving this Saturday morning at 6 am. We’ll stay at an English professor’s flat in Kensington Gardens and the university is going to put the Professor from England in an apartment on the campus here. I’ll be presenting a series of talks to his classes and he will do the same for my classes at Mid City University. So we need to begin making plans now.

Daddy, Kara asked seriously. Will Katy Pillar need a passport? I can take her with me can’t I?

Yes sweetheart, smiled Daddy as he answered his little girl. "Katy Pillar is a toy, so she won’t need a passport
