About this ebook

In this book, Cromell examines ghosts and ghost hunting from a Biblical worldview. Pulling no punches, he asks whether or not modern paranormal investigators are dealing with things better left alone. Using Scripture as a guideline, he examines what is actually taking place during a haunting, and leaves his readers with no doubt as to where he stands.

    Ghost Hunting - Chris Cromell

    Preface

Turn on your television on just about any weeknight and you’ll easily be able to find shows that focus on the paranormal. Our culture has become fascinated by the search for proof of the existence of life after death. Ghosts, vampires, monsters and werewolves dominate the airwaves as we try to discovery the mysteries of the forbidden world. But what does the Bible have to say about these things?

Type in ghosts or ghost hunting on any internet search engine and you’ll get anywhere from 500,000 to twenty-two million hits. Fascination with the paranormal has peaked, and I’m concerned that people are dealing with things that are better left alone.

I’ll be the first to admit that I myself have closely followed at least one ghost hunting television show over the last couple of seasons. I’ve had a paranormal experience of my own, which is what actually prompted me to get interested in this type of thing. The more I watch, however, the more I question the wisdom of what it is that these paranormal sleuths are getting involved in. This book examines the verses in the Bible that deal with ghosts, spirits and demons, and confronts ghost hunting head on.

It’s quite obvious that this book is quite small in size, but it has been written in such a manner as to eliminate any fluff that might normally be present in a work of this kind. The scripture references that have been chosen for examples are quite direct and do not require much additional explanation. My hope is that you could read the entire book in a single sitting if you so desire.

I would like to make one thing clear before we jump into the text. It should be fairly obvious what my actual conclusions are going to be: that the Bible does not condone activities that deal with the spirit world. The purpose of this book is to simply see exactly what Scripture says about these activities.

It is not my purpose to judge those who chose to do these things, nor do I condemn people who consider themselves to be psychics, sensitives, or mediums. I am not your pastor, your priest, or your counselor. I am simply someone who is well versed in the Bible who has chosen to write about what it says concerning these things.

Having said that, I would welcome any and all constructive feedback from you regarding this book. If you have questions or comments for me, feel free to contact me at chrisjCromell@gmail.com. I’ll do my best to get back to you quickly, but please know that my volume of email is quite high and it may take me a short time to respond.
