Please send them to my email id harpreet786@gmail.com,. My writing for sometime has come to standstill and your words may add some fire to it.Thank you all.I am a writer and writing has been my passion from my college days, but I have given it complete free reign over everything else, only in the last few years. As a journalist, I have worked in many newspapers and magazines and gathered over 13 years of experience. But I am still gathering experience for my writing. This book is dedicated to Ma – the mother to all human kind who finds solace in her in times of joy and dire crisis. It is not necessary to give up your religion to follow her, just worship her, love her, and she will look out for you just as a mother does.

This book is also dedicated to ‘The Rose’, my teacher and his daughter – truly an angel. And as always my four legged friend Jack. His patience with me goes beyond what I will ever see in humans.

Introduction

…Shakti, the source of all power…is rather simple, not unlike the bond between a child and a mother. From them he seeks love and compassion, forgiveness, solace and strength and above all, the courage and inspiration to live and die honorably. The bond has endeared the many highs and lows in the clan’s power and position, from princes to fugitives, adventurers to kings, vassals to ordinary citizens. It has endured from being fabulously wealthy to in many homes today, humiliating poverty. To the Rathore the two deities remain simply mataji", revered mother and the clan’s faith is complete and unshakeable…’

Nothing is hidden from her and she knows her children and their needs. Her worshippers have a mother-child relationship with her and she is known by many names. Each has a favorite name which they repeat but she is one and all at the same time.

Call her Kalikama, Durgama, Meladimaa, Sinhavasani, Shrapta Shingi Mata – she is one and the same Mother Goddess – Mataji. Her various names refer to her various forms, moods, expressions and thoughts – anger – Kalikama, kindness – Durgama, knowledge – Saraswati …each avtar holds a different position in the hierarchy of gods. The all powerful mother, her worship goes back to ancient times to the period when they worshipped her as Mother Nature. Her name appears
