PEGGY AND JIMMY THE CROW
The back door flew open and in flew the wind and the rain. It not only blew in old dead leaves from last fall but also Daddy in his bright orange jacket.
Peggy
he called. Come and see what Daddy found in the woods! Vickie honey, bring the birdcage that Mommy bought at the yard sale last week. Sandy Jo can you bring me an old towel?
Mommy appeared from the kitchen doorway where she was fixing supper. Richard, what did you drag home now? What is that? Are you planning on keeping it in this house?

We’ll have to ask Mommy, but maybe we can keep it until it learns to fly and feed itself.
All three pair of eyes were looking at Mommy.
Can we Mommy? Please!
Peggy begged. Her little hands folded in front
