    Diseased Libido is an anthology series of warped speculative stories of horror, sci-fi, satire and the bizarre.

    This issue contains three offal tales of obsession, compulsion and fear:

    “The Promise” - A man wakes to find a dead girl in his bed but can’t remember how she got there. Did he kill her? Is it a Hoax? All he knows is that his life has become a nightmare.

    “The One” - A couple drive out to the country. He is angry that their relationship has ended and she is giving him the silent treatment.

    The strange and bizarre works of Steve Carter and Antoinette Rydyr (S.C.A.R.) incorporates anything from Sci Fi and horror fantasy to surrealism and weird satire. All of it has a strong element of the fantastic and a healthy dose of experimentalism. They create in a variety of mediums – prose fiction, illustration, comic books, screenplays and even music, which they produce with their experimental bands FistFunk Futurists and TeknoSadisT. Their screenplay "Curse of the Swampies" won Best Feature Film Screenplay at the A Night of Horror International Film Festival 2010. Current projects include new comics, more audio experiments and prose stories. There are also a number of screenplays and novellas in the works.

      THE PROMISE

      Sunlight pierced through the gaps in the vertical blinds shining onto Ethan’s face and causing him to stir from his slumber.

      Dishevelled and bleary eyed, he squinted at the blinding light. Remnants of the previous night’s drinking lay strewn on the bedside table and upon the floor.

      Sitting up, Ethan noticed a lump in the bed beside him.

      What tha-?

      He reached over, about to pull back the covers, paused unsure, then thought better of it.

      Staring at the lump he scratched his head, rubbed the stubble on his chin.

      Just can’t remember last night!

      His head pounding, Ethan leapt out of bed, quickly pulled on some clothes and began clearing the empty booze bottles, throwing them into the bin.

      Apprehensive, he stared at the lump again. This time, he gathered the courage to approach the mysterious object in the bed. Finally, he stood hovering over it and drew back the covers.
