About this ebook
People don't know how to name cats. They pick names that they think are right for the cat or that they just like the sound of. Believe me, no cat in the world wants to be called Charlie! I learned that in a pretty amazing way as you'll discover!
My Cat, Wisewhisker, helped me to write this book. He helped me to discover what the true names of all cats are. The funny thing is that the names are all related to unique cat behavior. Cat's always name themselves by virtue of their behavior.
I can almost guarantee you that your cat has the wrong name. But the good news is that there are 300 REAL cat names in this book, and your cat's real name is in here somewhere. It's up to you to discover which one it is by observing your fuzzy feline friend.
Thousands of cats were interviewed in the making of this book. Wisewhisker did the translating, I did the typing. So it's his book really.
Enjoy yourself, have a laugh, and find your cat's REAL name in these pages!

Your Cat's REAL Name - Dante Petrilla
Introduction
Congratulations! You’re a cat owner (or else you’ve bought the wrong book), and you’ve just got your hands on the only book you’ll ever need to name your new fuzzy little feline friend. It’s a bit crazy though, isn’t it? A book filled with potential names for your cat. Couldn’t I just have named my cat myself, I hear you asking. Well, of course you could, but the main thing to remember where cats are concerned is that the little guys (or girls) are happy. That’s mainly why I decided to write this book.
It’s true! I got so sick of seeing unhappy cats. Seems like every time I visited someone who was a cat owner, I’d come across these poor, sad looking little cats. I wondered why they were so sad, and then I figured it out. Well, that’s not entirely true … someone else figured it out for me. I’d better explain.
See, my wife and I are cat owners too – we have dozens of ‘em, the place is a zoo! But anyway, we have one special cat. And a very special cat he is, too. He was born here at the house, and we named him Charlie. That was our first mistake!
Little Charlie was never happy with his name. Say Charlie, and he’d run the other way. He went out of his way to let us know how unhappy he was about his name. Of course we didn’t understand what was going on. We just kept trying different kinds of cat food out on him, thinking he didn’t like what he was being fed. People can be so stupid!
When Charlie was a year old, something happened that just blew us away, and I can tell you, we never called him Charlie again. We love our cats, and since Charlie shared his birthday with a few others, we threw them a little party. Loads of tuna, cod, and salmon, and even funny little party hats! Well, we divided the fish up onto 5 different plates and sang happy birthday to the little guys. They were overjoyed! They dug right into the fish and were having a great time … all but Charlie.
What’s wrong, little Charlie,
my wife asked him.
MY NAME IS NOT CHARLIE!
he screamed back.
He didn’t just scream like cats do – he spoke to us in words we understood. We were shocked into silence for a few minutes, but then we just looked at each other and laughed. Then I asked our talking cat, if his name wasn’t Charlie, what was it.
My name is Wisewhisker,
he replied soberly. You must call me Wisewhisker.
He sounded pretty serious, so we decided that the best thing to do was to start calling him Wisewhisker. He then proceeded to tell us that we had named all our other cats wrongly as well! Fluffy, Snowy, Boots, Chester, Sammy, Moe … they ALL had the wrong names. Can you believe it? We got them all wrong.
And I’m willing to bet your cat has the wrong name too. You see, people don’t know how to name cats, or at least they won’t until they’ve read this book. The one problem is that cats always name themselves. So you can call your cat Oscar if you like, but he just isn’t going to be happy with it. That’s the cause of all those unhappy cats I
