Searching for a Bite
Gerard spent a full week running searches for mortals to interview on www.biteme.gov, the U.S. government’s database of candidates for vampirism. The first night he watched a boring video narrated by a Department of Vampirism employee. It explained the laws about embracing humans and offered friendly tips: only bite people who have received approval from their state government to become vampires; only accept payment through the national government’s official direct transfer system; read through the Department’s literature on interviewing candidates.
