About this ebook
Standing at the altar, looking into the eyes of the man you love, you look forward to a future as bright as the hope in your heart. Years later, it seems that sometimes even golden hope can be tarnished -- especially when your anniversary gift is an electric skillet.
Heck, its enough to make a woman wonder what she's missing. Sure, the grass may look greener on the other side, and nobody wants to be a habit, to have their love taken for granted. But once offered flirtation, how do you find the value in what you have?

- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5I really wanted ot rate this higher because I love a plain/unattractive heroine, and there was soooo much set-up for good angst, but everything just moved too, I dunno, smoothly. It sort of drifted from one plot point to the next with little friction or build-up or climax. I mean, when Dave offhandedly mentions that he is looking forward to announcing they're expecting, I scanned every page back to the beginning looking for the part where Mary told him. Talk about anti-climactic! I guess I was just hoping for more angst and drama, where this is just a mild, sweet book. (2.5 stars)
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5It was a good read. I think some of us can relate to how Mary feels. The world judges us on the outside, but rarely do people take what's inside into account. Dave sounds like a treasure!

Eye Of The Beholder
Gail McFarland
An electric frying pan,
I sighed, wondering why I’d ever gotten my hopes up. In nine years of marriage, I don’t think it had ever been harder for me to dredge up a smile, but I tried and sort of succeeded because it was expected. It’s real nice and… sturdy looking.
It’s your birthday, and the handle of yours is cracked. Besides, I wanted you to have something nice, so I got you this one. It’s top of the line, and it’s got a guarantee.
Mark’s arm fell around my shoulders when he bent to kiss my cheek. I sure don’t want my best girl frying herself instead of the chicken.
He brushed his cheek against mine and smiled big. You know I love your fried chicken.
Yeah, he did. He could eat the stuff as fast as
