About the Author

INDIFFERENCE
Homeless child on unloved feet
With restless eyes and hopeless dreams
Prowling the nights on empty streets
Looking for something only he can see.
Sleeping with one eye on the dark
Restless dreams are bold and stark
Hungry heart, unchildlike waif
Too early thrust on earth’s bald pate.
Fruitless stick, empty-eyed chit
Bony frame seared head to toe
With endless signs of nightly woe.
Silent waif of careless streets
Creeping along so silently
Ever wondering how different it would be
If people did not pass by so indifferently.

COLD FIRE
Once I held something so infinitely precious, so fragile
