      Jenna Faulkner tightened the sash around her waist as the elevator doors slid open. She drew in a deep breath and got out, staring down the brightly lit hall. It was do or die. Not every day a woman decided to seduce her best friend—or stop him from marrying another.

      Forcing her legs to move, she rehearsed her plan in her head. Approach, attack…and probably never show her face to Cade again if she failed. Her heart rate accelerated. The penthouse suite’s twin doors loomed ahead, larger with each reluctant step.

      She could do this. She had to. If she didn’t, she’d lose him forever—that, she couldn’t allow.

      Palms sweaty and heart threatening to beat out of her chest, she raised a fist and knocked. What would she do if he sent her away? Or worse, rejected her?
