About this ebook

NEW LIVING WELL WITHOUT SALT COOKBOOK FEATURES A PATH TO FULL RECOVERY

Who says you have to cook with salt to turn out a tasty dish? Donald Gazzaniga, who has fast become the leading authority on no-salt, low-sodium cooking, has just released his fifth no-salt, lowest sodium recipe book -- "Living Well Without Salt" -- and, once again, he and his wife, Maureen, have produced a wide-range of kitchen-tested meals that will please everyone's palate despite the fact that all of the recipes are intentionally designed to have the very minimum sodium and salt content.

"Health experts are finally beginning to take serious note of how dangerous too much salt can be in the American diet," Gazzaniga says. He is living proof that controlling the salt in one's diet can not only improve one's health, it can be downright life-saving. It was almost 20 years ago that Gazzaniga was told he was a candidate for a heart transplant after he was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. His doctor told him one of the things he must do was cut down on his salt intake. Gazzaniga did this with a vengeance and his efforts proved so successful that he no longer needed a heart transplant and, with the help of prescribed medications and a strict low sodium diet, he has been able to achieve a normal lifestyle.

In fact, this author has reversed "terminal heart disease" using his program and that diagnosis was made back in 1997.

"It was early on in my no salt campaign that I was determined to develop recipes that were tasty but were strictly low in sodium. With the help of my loyal and patient wife, Maureen, we developed hundreds of recipes that resulted in our first cookbook, "The No-Salt, Lowest Sodium Cookbook."
That book was so successful that it was followed by three more, "The No-Salt, Lowest Sodium Baking Book," "The No-Salt, Lowest Sodium Light Meals Book," and "The No-Salt, Lowest Sodium

International Cookbook." In addition, Gazzaniga established a website, www.megaheart.com, that features recipes, no-salt health tips and other pertinent information for those seeking to lower their salt/sodium intake.

"All in all we probably have developed and tested more than a thousand no-salt, low sodium recipes," Gazzaniga says. "The new book has recipes from party sandwiches and hot buffalo wings to chocolate scones and Boston baked beans. There's no reason people can't enjoy a wide variety of tasty foods while keeping the dishes salt free and healthy."

In addition to the recipes, the new book has chapters on High Blood Pressure and Salt, Salt Myths, Eating Out in America, What We Can Eat, and much more. It also has a forward by Dr. Michael B. Fowler, director of the heart transplant program at Stanford University Medical Center.

The book is also available at all book stores or via the Internet at Amazon, Barnes & Noble and other book sites including Megaheart.com.

After recieving this book, I immediately sent an order for the remainder of the book written by Don Gazzaniga. How exciting to find cook books written by someone who "walked" the Heart Failure path first. I have already chosen some favorite meals and can look forward to many more meals without salt as the added ingredient, usually by the "bad boys" food industry. the author is always available via email to share other bits of information, to share his own experiences, and to offer encouragement. I have bought additional copies of the books to give to my local library, as I believe so many others are suffering without knowing that we can live without additional sodium/salt added to our foods.
