    Series Recap:

In Albuquerque, NM, lives Walter White, a high-school chemistry teacher who is trying to make ends meet for his family – pregnant wife Skyler and his son Walter Jr – by working a part-time job at a car wash when he discovers he has terminal lung cancer.

After unintentionally learning about the lucrative field of methamphetamine production from his DEA Agent brother-in-law Hank, and after running into a former student named Jesse, a drugged out dead-beat who knows how to make meth, Walt decides that making, or cooking, meth could provide him with an opportunity to support his family financially without having to ask for help. He teams up with Jesse to teach him about the trade, and soon Walt’s chemically pure meth is the next best thing in New Mexico.

While manufacturing the meth becomes easier – starting with an old camper as a mobile cook station – selling the product becomes an increasingly complicated and dangerous process. Walt and Jesse begin manufacturing for a small-time and psychotic drug lord, Tuco, whose paranoia and short temper ushers the duo into an unwinding tale of avoiding the DEA, drug gangs and cartels, and family, which they do to partial success – but they never avoid the consequences of their actions.

    Show History:

Breaking Bad was created and produced by longtime television writer Vince Gilligan who explains that the idea came from an innocuous and jokey conversation with a friend about better ways to make money. The title comes from a southern expression for raising hell.

The show is shot in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where it is set, and is slated for a five-season run. The show features a second executive producer along with Gilligan, Mark Johnson, and a host of writers. Three-time Emmy Winner for his portrayal of Walter White, Bryan Cranston has also directed a handful of episodes. The show has steadily increased its viewership, and is acclaimed for its writing and filming.
