About this ebook
My enemy’s enemy...
When a Crystal Skull is discovered beneath the pyramid of the Sun in Mexico, it ignites a cataclysmic chain of events that maroons SG-1 on a dying world.
Xalótcan is a brutal society, steeped in death and sacrifice, where the bloody gods of the Aztecs demand tribute from a fearful and superstitious population. But that’s the least of
Colonel Jack O’Neill’s problems. With Xalótcan on the brink of catastrophe, Dr Daniel Jackson insists that O’Neill must fulfil an ancient prophesy and lead its people to salvation.
But with the world tearing itself apart, can anyone survive? As fear and despair plunge Xalótcan into chaos, SG-1 find themselves with ringside seats at the end of the world...
Special section: Excerpts from Dr Daniel Jackson’s mission journal!

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This book was OK. This is story of SG-1 and their trip into a far off moon that is still following the religion of the ancient Aztecs. The Go'auhld here, however, are not very strong and need the followers to believe for the sake of believing and fight amongst themselves with no real winners. An old "colleague" of Dr. Jackson has unearthed a Crystal Skull under the Mayan pyramids that it self is a tranporter. However he thinks he's gone back in time. I don't feel Whitelaw did a great job capturing the true characters of O'Neil and Carter. Particularly their story long ability to allow the children to believe that they are gods. In a very short time with life in the line maybe, but not for days and weeks at a time. O'Neil wouldn't just be uneasy with this idea, he'd do more about it. As the Sg-1 Series is not intertwined I'd recommend skipping this one.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This book combined SG-1 and crystal skulls and Aztec and Mayan histories. So I loved it. The only part I didn't like was the way they started it. It started with Carter at the Pentagon after the mission. After reading two books that dealt with time travel, I started to get nervous. Then it appeared like it was going to be one of those stories with alternate universes. But no. Once you read completely through to the end, you discover what happened after Carter came back from the Pentagon to the SGC. Cue the happy ending, life is good. This story had lots of action and it used real culture and history as a starting point. I always loved that part in the TV series.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5SG-1 discovers a brutal society with Aztec roots and learn much more about the origins of the Crystal Skull encountered in a previous mission. Sonny Whitelaw captures the essence of the SG-1 team and presents some entertaining science in the process.Published in mass-market paperback by Fandemonium Books.
