About this ebook

Deadly Offerings is an ebook with a blend of pulsing passion and razor-sharp suspense. It is the first adventure in this sizzling romantic suspense trilogy.

Anne Mason thinks she’ll be safe living in the Midwest building a wind farm. She may be dead wrong. Someone is dumping bodies in her corn field and telling Anne they are gifts—for her!
As the body count rises, Anne realizes a cold-blooded serial killer is patiently waiting and watching her every move. And he won’t stop until he ends her life. It is clear there are no limits to this killer’s thirst for revenge or how far he will go to get it.

After a nasty divorce, Anne Mason does not want to get romantically involved, especially with ex-husband’s attorney, Michael Brandt.

The ruggedly handsome new County Prosecutor is the last person Anne can trust, but may offer her only chance at survival from a psychopathic killer. But will she survive the passion that rages between them?

Alexa Grace?s Deadly Offerings (Deadly Trilogy, #1), like J.D. Nixon?s Heller (Heller, #1) and Bonnie R. Paulson?s Why Me? (A Date to Die For #1), had been yet another edition in a set of ebooks that I?d read back in the earlier days of my new presence on the Internet. It had been the year 2012, to be exact, when I read this serial killer thriller about a psychopathic murderer who, after he has killed, deposits his victims? remains in the corn field on a farm owned by our main protagonist, Anne Mason, in order to send to her a morbid message that she would soon be numbered among them. And even though I?d composed a detailed review of Deadly Offerings (Deadly Trilogy, #1) immediately after completing it during that time, I, unfortunately, cannot locate the analysis today?despite my high and low search efforts. My conclusion? I stored the review away with a small batch of others in my secondary city, and neglected to bring them back with me to my primary city. So, for the sake of recognizing this respectably-paced?and intruguing?psychological thriller that I?d had the pleasure of reading, I?ll say this: Deadly Offerings (Deadly Trilogy, #1) is a very entertaining novel and then some. And I enjoyed it much.Though Michael Brandt annoyed me beyond was is tolerable?due to his too overly protective actions towards Anne?Deadly Offerings is still well worth the read. And I would still recommend it.There is no such thing as being loved too much by another person, especially if he or she happens to be your significant other. But Michael Brandt was just a breath away from obsessive-compulsive disorder in the case of Anne. And his irritating behavior robbed the narrative, but only slightly, of what could?ve otherwise been a five star rating.

Anne is soon to be divorcee, a newly invested wind farmer, and the focus of a deranged killer who keeps leaving 'presents' in her corn field. Michael Brandt has come to save the day, well she thought he did until she realized he was her ex's lawyer. But that didn't keep him from pursuing Anne and getting caught up in trying to save her and fall in love with her.

I had to write a warning review because this book does not live op to the ratings hype. I struggled to read this and finally just gave up. This book does not flow and the characters are very one dimensional. For instance Anne this supposedly super savvy lady and super sharp does the following:1. Getting attacked outside a bar and rescued by Michael and acting all tough. I found my pepper spray now. Ya you did after Michael pulled the guy off you and you had time to rummage in tout purse.2. Super smart Anne is about to have the judge rule in her favor and they take a recess where she gives the gambling jack butt of an ex 650k and has to sell her business to do it. Ummmm real business people do not do that.3. After the carjacking they talk about weeks passing, then Michael is out at the farm and checking her face to see the fading bruises? Weeks is plural and she had to move so at least 2 maybe 3 she really shouldn't still have a bruise.4. The wind farm thing. 1st it irritated me on 2 areas. When she first talks about it she tells Daisy she is going to do it but she hasn't researched it yet. Why would you say you were doing something that you hadn't researched? Then at the meeting the guy asks what she knows and she whips out some 3 sentence generic sound bite that I know and have done NO research and he is all ohhh I see how smart you are ....ummm a 4th grader could have said that. Also Anne suffers from super hot syndrome where she doesn't know how pretty she is but every guy eyes her like "a chocolate chip cookie" really I kid you not that was from the book. Or in her case they wouldn't. Mind mixing business with pleasure. Trite! There are more lots more instances and I am in the first twenty percent of the book. I am giving up. This author writes at maybe a freshman level and good for her for trying writing...but I am not giving op any more time trying to read this drivel.

Anne is in the process of a divorce. Her friends take her to the bar to let loose a little bit and she sees a handsome guy across the room. She is instantly attracted, but not yet ready to jump into the dating scene. Then she sees him again – in court as her soon to be ex-husband’s attorney! And wait, he shows up again and again! Michael is showing up everywhere, and seemingly always at the precisely perfect moment. Anne and Michael are a power couple in the making. There is great chemistry, a great sexual tension, and enough drama to fill a …corn field. It’s a good thing that Michael is as persistent as he is, because he is definitely going to need it with the relationship-shy Anne. Messy divorces can do that to you. But every time these two are around each other you know it’s meant to be. I really loved how Anne is always first on Michael’s mind. He is tough and strong, yet caring and sensitive to her emotions and needs. Anne, on the other hand, began to become a bit frustrating. She is obviously attracted to Michael, but she ignores all of her own emotional and physical cues (not to mention his) and keeps thinking of him just as her ex’s attorney. Like come on girl! Get it together and kiss him! This book has a really great mystery, with just a touch of horror in the form of a serial killer. I was really happy to see I was wrong (repeatedly) about who the killer was. That is definitely something I always appreciate when it comes to a murder mystery. The serial killer is super creepy and it seems like they are always one step ahead of the game. But then this story has so much more into it. There is a budding romance building. Not to mention another that will spin off into the sequel. During the beginning of the book I felt it moved a bit fast. The number of events that happened in just the first chapter was quite high. But it quickly begins to even out and it turned into quite the page turner. I finished this in two days and I thought it was a really good story. I definitely recommend this if you are into romantic suspense novels!
