About this ebook

For more than a thousand moons, many of the land’s races have existed together, sharing some form of peace. Dwarves mined the snowy mountains, barbarians hunted the icy north, gnomes hid secrets in their massive tree-homes, the tribes of Mazi wandered the world in search of truths and mysteries, and humans pursued whatever greed moved their hearts. Kings dined in majestic halls; peasants tilled the earth; scholars lost their souls to dusty tomes and legendary artifacts.

But one such of these ancient artifacts has been uncovered, and threatens to destroy the delicate balance of life in Piyr. Guarded by soulless undead in the lair of a malicious dragon, a dwarven-forged sword of woe lies, waiting for the cursed son of a murdered human king. His father and brother dead at his own hands, the brutal killer will stop at nothing to claim the magical sword that will give him the power to rule the lands of Piyr in blood.

An unlikely alliance is thrown together by this threat; a human boy, a half-blood troll, an elven prince, and an aging dwarven lord are but a few of the characters thrust into an epic struggle. Treachery, hatred, and black-hearted armies are against them all, bitterness and distrust weaken their bonds from within.

Author

Sokarjo Stormwillow

Sokarjo Stormwillow is an author and aspiring gardener living in Omaha, Nebraska. She has a degree in accounting and business and works full time as an accounting clerk. She has been writing and attempting writing since she was very young, frequently submiting fiction stories and little poems instead of book reports and essays. The Tale of Tyrfing is Stormwillow’s first novel to be published, hopefully to be followed by many others. She has loved fantasy since she was very young, blaming the obsession on her Irish and German heritage. Her inspiration for Tyrfing came from a collection of Viking legends, as well as from various fantasy works she has read, and her own muddled up mind. Sokarjo has always preferred to think for herself. Her mother always said she marched to the beat of her own drum... she also dances to the music only she can hear and falls when skipping up stairs. Sokarjo enjoys music, thunderstorms, willow trees, candlelight, almost any book she can get her hands on, bubble baths, and long walks in the moonlight. She has an insatiable thirst for knowledge and good herbal tea. She appreciates rarities such as honesty, individuality, common sense, and an open mind, especially if all these qualities can be found at once. Sokarjo is a Norse name, with the j pronounced like a y. Sokarjo was told that it means "She who seeks" and feels that it is quite appropriate. Currently she is seeking to write more books and to learn more about spirituality, relationships, and the meaning of life.
