      Addiction can be many things,

      But damnation it always brings,

      Are you addicted to the coke?

      Or do you just want to have a smoke?

      Do you want just one more drink?

      To bring you back from the brink,

      Do you shoot up and then eat?

      Before you put shoes on your feet,

      Do you know how much you will spend today?

      When you go to draw your pay,

      How much will your bookie get?

      When you go to place that bet,

      When with the stranger you have sex,

      Is this for you life’s worse hex?

      You have to face your addiction,

      If only to stop all the friction,

      Do you need help from another?

      Maybe you could ask your mother.

      Or will you do it on your own?

      From deep within your safety zone,

      When you’re clean life will improve,

      Then you can get back in the groove.
