    Many years ago, I took it upon myself to study some of what Freud and Young had to say about dreams and dream interpretation. I also have looked through dream interpretation books that tell you what certain symbols are supposed to mean. I explored my own dreams with the information I have collected and came to some interesting conclusions about dreams. I discovered that most dream books with definitions are meaningless unless they have been fully absorbed by your subconscious.

    Some of what Freud, Jung and others have to say have some validity, but much of their claims are nonsense that have no basis in dream interpretation reality. For example, Freud's obsession with sexual content in dream interpretation is simply erroneous. It is more likely that Freud's excessive preoccupation with sexual content reveals much about Freud himself rather than the nature of dreams.
