    Once Upon a Dragon

    Chapter 01

It was still dark outside, though with the moonlight reflecting on the snow covered landscape the winter nights were never as dark as they were in the other seasons. Ríona was just putting on her fur-lined boots when she heard the familiar knocking on her door. Good morning, Little Bird, said the King. He was the only one who was allowed to call her by a pet name. With everyone else she would become furious if they didn’t address her by her proper name.

Good morning, Your Highness, greeted Aran. And with a slight bow he handed King Desmond the reins of his mare. Your Majesty.

Aran, greeted the King and mounted. How is your wife coming on?
