Meditation is a deeply relaxing process that allows you to unwind and relax. It brings you clarity of thought and the ability to walk through life calmer and centered, in conscious control of your thoughts, feelings, and actions. You do not have to be familiar with meditation to use this book. Begin with the first meditation exercise. It offers an introduction to meditation and shows you how to breathe and how to keep your posture. You can use the same technique for each of the meditations in this book. All of these meditations can be performed while sitting, standing, or lying down, but sitting is recommended.
If you are able, it is recommended that you record these meditations to play back to yourself while you experience them. You could also work with a partner or group and have someone read the meditations aloud to you. If you do neither, read through the meditation of your choice a couple of times, and then undertake the journey.
Meditation is a very powerful and rewarding tool to aid your spiritual growth and enhance your well-being. Always fully return to your normal conscious awareness after a meditation session. Pat your legs and arms, say your name aloud, eat a snack, or do a mundane activity.
