      Introduction

      Since the beginning of time, people have been asking if there was life after death. We read about Near Death Experiences, but these people all come back to life. Is death different when someone does not return to the land of the living? We think of ghosts on Halloween or at Christmas when Mr. Scrooge meets the ghosts that will change his life forever. Now the reader can learn how to record and analyze ghost voices by following the simple instructions in this eBook.

      What are ghost voices, the critics suggest that these ethereal voices are from local radio stations, our cell phones or from people chatting near the recorder. While these are possibilities, we can discard them as not being practical as critics cannot duplicate these voices, as modern day digital recorders do not pick up local radio stations. We have taught thousands of people how to record and analyze ghost voices since 1990 and have over 1,000 ghost voices that readers can listen to by going to our web site at http://www.ghostweb.com.

      Ghost voices are not imprints left in time, but from twilight visitors who are often are interactive with the living. As field investigators, we can ask questions and the ghostly entities respond to those questions. We have never recorded music from a local radio station before nor a cell phone conversation, but we have recorded the voices of disincarnate spirits speaking.

      In other cases, it is as if the field investigator records the conversation between two spirits as he or she is walking by them. Each ghost voice pattern is different, some speak with local dialects, and other speaks with slang or with a vernacular speech. Ghost voices are not monotonous, but filled with emotions that tear at the very fabric of one’s soul.

      We believe that ghosts are the evidence of life after death; their existence is a testimony to the ongoing nature of the human spirit. We have never encountered demonic or evil spirits, but we have encountered ghosts with attitudes.       The book you are about to read chronicles many aspects of the fascinating audio phenomenon known as EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomena). The basic premise of EVP is that the voices of spirits can be heard under certain circumstances in magnetic audio recordings. In this book, Dave and Sharon offer a comprehensive analysis of the how’s and why’s of EVP as well detailing simple techniques that you can use yourself to do your own research. They also present a radical new analytical technique that promises to offer new and amazing insights into this field.

      I was first introduced to EVP in 1991 when someone gave me a tape with some examples of EVP on it. I was immediately struck by the clarity of the sounds and the obvious implications of the phenomena. Was this a possible doorway to another world? As the founder of Reverse Speech, and a ham radio operator for more than 30 years, I have a good ear for audio and have spent literally thousands of hours analysing faint sounds on tape. I believed the tape I had in my hand was genuine, but I had another tool at my disposal to check its validity – Reverse Speech.

      The theory of Reverse Speech states that language is bi-level, forwards and backwards. Imbedded backwards into the sounds of speech, another form of communication exists. This communication, called Reverse Speech, is from the many other parts of ourselves. It speaks the truth, according to the individual, and many times, it can discuss deeper matters of consciousness and Spirit itself. I have used Reverse Speech successfully for many years in both investigative and therapeutic situations with amazing success.

      I applied my Reverse Speech techniques to the EVP tape and began to analyse the tape in reverse, checking for backward messages. I didn’t have to look long and was stunned to hear messages in reverse that were actually clearer than the forward statements! In fact, I found a backward message on almost every EVP message that I analysed.

      This is unusual in itself because backward messages in normal speech will usually only occur once every 15 or 20 seconds. It occurs more often in high emotional states, and the more spiritual or free flowing one is with their speech. Could this confirm the spiritual nature of EVP?

      I did no more work with EVP at that time, but I did verify its existence to my satisfaction using my audio skills and techniques of Reverse Speech.

      The fact that Reverse Speech occurs in EVP is extremely significant. The fact that it occurs so often is even more significant. It verifies that the voices that speak in EVP do indeed have intelligence and emotion and it confirms that we are indeed dealing with a valid and real phenomenon.

      That being said, the use of Reverse Speech in conjunction with EVP promises to open up an entirely new horizon into the field, and Dave and Sharon are to be commended for being the pioneers of this technique with EVP.

      As it has done with my work, Reverse Speech will enable the avid EVPer to verify the truthfulness of the statements being spoken. Additionally, it will enable them to look deeper into the minds of spirits speaking, to determine their motives and emotional states. It may even open up entirely new horizons, enabling us to understand more about this fascinating phenomena and the spirit world from which it appears to be coming.

      We have just begun to explore the worlds of Reverse Speech and EVP but the knowledge and insights both of these fields can offer us is immense. They both ponder the questions of who are we? Where did we come from and where are we going?

      This will be the quest of the 21st century as technology allows us to look increasingly into the wondrous worlds that lie beyond. Have your tape recorder ready and happy hunting – forwards and reverse!

      The International Ghost Hunters Society promotes the use of digital technology for the recording of ghost voices from beyond the grave. These ghost voices are known as EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomenon). We believe that the voices recorded are the souls or essences of those who lived and died here on this earth.
