Furniture Hunting in Delhi

About this ebook
This guide is a small compilation directory of sorts for buying beautiful wooden furniture in Delhi. Delhi has a lot of traditional craftsmen or wood workers who do a splendid job in making new and reproduction. Also there are plenty of small little known off beat places where one can get antique or different or innovative furniture. This list has been compiled after visiting many of them and seeing their wares. Of course, like all dealers, there are times when one hits a gold mine immediately and at times several trips does the trick.
Despite this, it is a wonderful place to begin your search for elusive furniture in Delhi. Though started as a list of 25, it includes more than 40 such names and details. There are award winning craftsmen, there are dealers, well known boutiques, passionate designers working with these... All I can say is use the directory well and check it out yourself!!!

I am passionate about writing especially on Craft, Travel, Art, Environment, food and more... Along with the wordsmithing comes taking images to accompany the writings. Meaning yes, I have a good stock of wonderful images as well as stories from India. It is the documentation and research on crafts especially textiles along with offbeat locales, unusual wonderful tasting natural food which spurs me on. In another avatar I do market research, pre-investment feasibility studies & financial analysis for investing. My work has been published in India and abroad in leading magazines – Design Today, Swagat, Discover India, Jetwings, Apparel..... vistors2delhi.com is a labour of love for a city which has been my home for so long and has given me so much. The book is a labour of love of hunting and collecting things in Delhi. Among other things, I collect interesting dolls, vessels, books, textiles... I collect both vintage, antique and contemporary pieces of Indian textiles and those from abroad. And occasionally part with it!

About The Author
Documentation of old crafts, writing on revival of dying crafts, innovations which give a new life to a stagnant craft are my forte. What spurs me on, about Indian arts, craft tradition is that very little has been documented. With an academic background of Commerce and Management, in another avatar I do Pre-investment feasibility studies, Financial Analysis for investment… free-lance writing satiates the creative urge. And I seem to be doing more of it! What started off as a fun filled pastime has today become an all-consuming passion. I am based out of New Delhi, India and have been writing on arts, crafts, design and environment.
The biggest problem with Indian craft has been its marketing and product
