About this ebook

These are all original poems I wrote throughout a year. I write what comes to mind or based off memories. A few of my poems are based of some of my favorite memories while the rest are fiction. Imagination is a writers greatest tool, and my imagination roams wild.

Imagination Roams Wild - Marissa Steidl

    Imagination Roams Wild

    Smashwords Edition

    Forgotten

    A heart long forgotten

    Fragile and old

    Put in the attic

    Collecting dust and cobwebs

Its been years since this heart has been used

The person as cold as the winter

    Not needing a heart

No compassion for those he hurts

    Leaving destruction in his wake

He forgot he even had a heart

Until one day a little girl approached him

And asked him why he was so cruel

    The question stumped him

    He searched everywhere

Giving up when he reached the attic

But finding hope when he looked upon the highest shelf

    Gingerly reaching for the heart

He closes his hand over it

As it's warmth radiates through him

    Memories

A box filled to the brink with items of the past

A torn, dirty teddy bear from my childhood

Old dolls I grew bored with

    Photographs from first grade

    A Halloween costume

A drawing I made in the fifth grade

Books that were never a challenge to me

    Melted crayons

    Coloring books and markers

    A game-boy used many times

    Mini clay bowl

    Photos of me and friends

    Books bags tattered and worn

    All packed into one box

    And stored away

    The Meadow

    You run through the meadow

    Carrying your school books

    Trying to ignore the pain

That fills you to the brink

Ignoring the tears that run down your face

Escaping the bully's that live to hurt you

    Tripping over a rock

    You fall down

    As the books fly out

    You wait for the crash

    But instead the books freeze

Still in the air so close to the ground

    Sitting up, you look around

Finally a place where everything stops

    Before you can get hurt

    Laughing as you dance around

    Forgetting the pain

    You & Me

    Together we'll float away

    These
