    For an Easter break this was an unseasonably fine one. Clear sunny days and balmy nights, this was to be a weekend to remember with the new man in my life, Russell. Easter on the Gold Coast is traditionally wet - all those poor campers on Frazer Island - I can never understand why they chance it.
    He had booked an apartment in the heart of Broadbeach, above the ‘café’ strip. Lazing by the pool, walks along the beach, dinner at wonderful restaurants were the plans. Russell had gone to a lot of bother to impress me - flowers on arrival, champagne on ice, strawberries at the ready. We both flittered about preparing canapés and setting out the table on the balcony, both nervously waiting for our guest to announce his arrival. The butterflies in my stomach were trying out for the Red Arrows, I was sure. So I opened the champagne and downed a glass while Russell puffed on a cigarette in the next room thinking I wouldn’t know what he was doing. He had described himself as a non-smoker, but he was far from that. I’d broken my own rule and continued to date him even after I knew he smoked. He had other lovely qualities, I told myself. Hmmm, more about that later.

    J R Sanders (1985- ) was born in Tucson, Arizona. His parents met in the military but it was his grandmother that was the most influential in his life. For years Sanders has had the love for the arts. Whether it involved culinary, drawing, painting, music, or writing. Because of his love for the arts, he had a hard time staying focused in school. Sanders dropped out of high school, got his GED, went to culinary school and became a head chef at nineteen. Though the culinary field did not work out as well, he went back to school to test into an Honors English class. While there he had the chance to write several short stories, and receive glowing grades. Of course, this reminded him of a high school teacher that inspired him to write. Now, a few short years after graduating from college, Sanders embarks on a new journey. He wrote his first book, "His Love In Time: Volume I," but was not happy with it. So, Sanders unpublished the first book to rewrite the book and make it more enjoyable. With the everlasting love of his wife and kids, Sanders plans on making a name for himself in literature world.
